Top Ten Tuesday is a blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week there’s a new given topic and you post your top ten list that goes with the subject. This weeks topic is “Books I’d Slay a Lion to Get Early” and I am fr DYING over the prompt title because it’s SO TRUE. I mean, one of our endless reader nicknames is being called booklions and that’s got to be for a reason… right??
ANYWAYS. I feel like this is going to be a very random list of titles so bear — or shall I say lion with me!
Yuppp… doesn’t have the same effect at all lol 😂
Starting with the books that have covers(ish):
▸99 Percent Mine, by Sally Thorne
I LOVED The Hating Game so catch me outside Barnes and Noble on release day waiting by the door like a new iPhone is dropping at Apple. It’s pretty much the same thing though sooooo.
▸In Another Time, by Caroline Leech
I really enjoyed her debut, Wait For Me, so i’m very excited to get another novel by her that takes place in the ’40s! It’s honestly such an interesting time to read about, i’m obsessed! Also, this romance sounds SO CUTE.
▸Seafire, by Natalie C. Parker
Once I heard them pitch this as a Mad Max: Fury Road, the grabby hands were out and ready for business with this one!
▸On the Come Up, by Angie Thomas
Okay, but do I even need to explain myself with this one?? I, of course, LOVED The Hate U Give and am sososo excited for more of Thomas’s writing!!
▸A Curse So Dark and Lonely, by Brigid Kemmerer
MY FAVE IS DOING A BEAUTY AND THE BEAST RETELLING AND I AM ALL UP FOR IT! Peep me sneaking around BookExpo looking for this one like a weirdo.
▸Little White Lies, by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
GUYS. I cannot even tell you how hyped I am for more books by Jennifer Lynn Barnes! I literally rated EVERY book in her The Naturals series 5 stars so i’m pretty positive that I will love this one as well! (i’m also reaaally hoping that this one is being given away at BookExpo b/c if so, i’m THERE)
Now onto books without covers… yet!
▸The Vanishing Stair (Truly Devious #2), by Maureen Johnson
Truly Devious left on SUCH a freaking cliffhanger that I am DYING for this next installment! I loved the MC so i’m also veeery excited to get to read from her perspective again!
▸Bloodwitch (The Witchlands #3), by Susan Dennard
I’ve been WAITING for this one to come out since January of 2017 so it’s pretty safe to say that this novel is extremely high up on the TBR. I would even slay a shark for all I care, maybe even a jaguar… hmmm… oKAY STOP GETTING IDEAS, TAYLOR!
▸The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue, by V.E. Schwab
I heard about this book back in late 2016-early 2017 and i’m STILL patiently waiting for it to release. The premise of a girl who sells her soul to the devil for the ability to live forever sounds SO GOOD and even though I feel like this one is going to break my heart, i’m ready for it. Two years ready if we’re being specific ahaha.
▸Tell Me Everything, by Sarah Enni
NO LIE. I’m mainly hyped for this because it’s pitched as a modern-day Amelie and OMG i’m already living for it!! I’ve been waiting and waaaiting for an Amelie-inspired YA novel so I am definitely itching to get my fingers on this one!
What books would you SLAAAY a lion to get early? Do we share any of the same anticipated novels? Are you going to BookExpo?? (thought i’d throw that one in the mix since i’d LOVE to meet some of you guys there lol) Until next time,
Happy Reading! ♡
